Very often there are very specific types of food offered for consumption, which require the evaluation before entering them into the market. They are: food supplements, dietary food, genetically modified organisms, the new food and some others. The evaluation and approval of these products fall in the scope of the competence of the Assessment and Registration Agency.
The Assessment and Registration Agency cooperates with the risk evaluation establishments of similar profile in the European Union performs the evaluation of food risk, evaluate the food safety and ensure the exchange of information among the member states concerning potentially harmful food products and do not permit them to reach the market.
In order to ensure modern and justified access to ensuring the food safety, the Assessment and Registration Agency carries out the scientific research on topical issues in the food sector. It carries out not only local, but also international and multinational scientific projects.
