Price list and Payment Application
The Assessment and Registration Agency of the Food and Veterinary Service hereby informs that the amendments to the 18 July 2006 Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 600 “Procedure of registration of veterinary medicines” (hereinafter – CMR No.600) came into effect 1 January 2011. These amendments require that the applicant must attach a proof of payment to the registration application for the respective service in accordance with the 28 December 2010 Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No.1231 “Regulatory enactments concerning the state monitoring and control activities carried out by the Food and Veterinary Service and the payment for the paid services rendered” (hereinafter – CMR No.1231).
We would like to place emphasis , that unlike the previous regulations, the new procedure does not provide the option of advance payments. The entire amount due for the service must be paid before commencement of the registration procedure. The price list of the paid services offered by the Food and Veterinary Service (hereinafter - FVS) is available in our webpage under title “Price List” section of the website.
Payment Procedure
1. The services must be paid according to the invoice issued by the FVS . In order to receive an invoice the submitter of the registration must submit a payment application to FVS.
Options of application submission :
a. Electronically by sending e-mail to registracija@pvd.gov.lv;
b. By post (Finance and Accounting Office, Peldu Street 30, Riga, LV 1050, Latvia);
c. In person at Administration Department Finance and Accounting (Riga, Peldu street 30, 4th floor room 408).

2. The FVS will issue an invoice based on the payment application and send to application submitter indicated contact address.
3. When making the payment for the invoice , the invoice number and the Economic Classification CODE (EKK) must be stated in the purpose of the payment.
4. When submitting application documents for the service, a proof of payment in accordance with CMR No.1231 for the paid services must be attached to the documents.
5. The payment can be also made by account card if coming in person to Assessment and Registration Centre, Riga, Peldu Street 30, 6th floor, room 607.
The paid services of veterinary medicines registration, renewal and registration monitoring offered by the FVS are not subject to value added tax (according to Article 2 Part 22 and Article 6 Part 1 Clause 9.1 of the Law on Value Added Tax).
Please note that the FVS is carrying out the registration of veterinary medicines effective since 1 January 2011. Previously, the registration of veterinary medicines was the responsibility of the State Agency of Medicines. Therefore, if prior to 1 January 2011 the State Agency of Medicines has carried out:
- Only application examination , wherein the compliance of the application with the requirements of CMR No.600 regulations is examined, the FVS shall charge 90 % of the amount due. To receive a 10% discount from the FVS, the person who submitted the application for the respective activities must present a document issued by a credit institution that states the amount repaid by the State Agency of Medicines for the respective service;
- Primary documentation examination and has commenced the assessment of data and documentation , the FVS shall charge 50 % of the amount due. To receive a 50% discount from the Food and Veterinary Service, the person who submitted the application for the respective activities must present a document issued by a credit institution that states the amount repaid by the State Agency of Medicines for the respective service;
- Assessment of data and documentation , the FVS shall charge 10 % of the amount due. To receive a 90% discount from the FVS, the person who submitted the application for the respective activities must present a document issued by a credit institution that states the amount repaid by the State Agency of Medicines for the respective service;
